Biography

Aakash Ahamed (BA, Franklin and Marshall College - Honors), MSc, Boston College, is a hydrologist developing scientific methods for satellite and airborne remote sensing measurements with applications to water resources, to natural hazard predictions, mitigations, and responses, and to monitoring and improving agricultural practices. As a PhD Candidate in the Department of Geophysics at Stanford University, his current doctoral project focuses on modeling, monitoring, and forecasting key hydrologic components of the Central Valley Aquifer System in California.

Aakash previously worked as a support scientist at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, where he constructed satellite-based physical models of flood and landslide hazards. He developed remote sensing analysis and software at Ceres Imaging, a successful precision agriculture start up based in Silicon Valley, and interned as a GIS analyst at the World Wildlife Fund for Nature in Washington, DC. Aakash has experience on high achieving teams of scientists and engineers in the public sector, private sector, NGOs and academia, as well as a strong publication record, and experience conducting fieldwork in remote locations. Aakash joined the Power 7 team in 2018.

Aakash is Ph.D Candidate at Stanford University in the Department of Geophysics focusing on water modelling.
